A CASE STUDY

The Challenge

Conserving and recovering wild Pacific Salmon takes collaboration between diverse stakeholders in a strategic and coordinated manner. The First Nations Fisheries Council of BC and the Pacific Salmon Foundation understood that there was no collaborative forum or organized framework to convene this diverse group of interests who are passionate about conserving Pacific Salmon.

The Solution

After teaming up separately with both PSF and FNFC, their teams collectively approached us looking for a solution. They were looking to bring together diverse stakeholders to discuss respective interests. Initially held virtually, PSF and FNFC wanted the opportunity to bring these stakeholders together in-person. Through the use of a hybrid live event, we were able to coordinate a multi-day conference with delegates attending in-person AND online.

“Thanks to Oh Boy Productions, our team at the Pacific Salmon Foundation was able to seamlessly connect with donors and the greater salmon conservation community throughout the restrictive phase of the pandemic. Producing video podcasts, digital seminars and convenings, to Dialogues in partnership with the First Nations Fisheries Council, the tech team at Oh Boy always ensure a seamless user experience and quality production. Over the past 6-months Oh Boy Productions has allowed us to introduce hybrid event experiences, including two-way dialogue, with ease.”

The Result

With the ability to choose in-person or virtual attendance, more delegates were able to participate in PSADS, allowing for a wider range of perspectives and ideas. Taking the event from virtual to hybrid allowed for more in-person networking, creating deeper connections between participants, while still connecting those who couldn’t attend in-person to the conference. Additionally, the client received a full recording of the conference to share with their network afterwards.
