A CASE STUDY
The Challenge
The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade (GVBOT) has been recognized as Western Canada’s leading business association since 1887. GVBOT operates one of the largest events platforms in the country putting on over 100 events a year, encouraging learning, networking, and providing a stage for national and international thought leaders to enlighten B.C.’s business leaders. At the on-set of COVID-19, these events were halted and GVBOT needed a solution to keep their members engaged. After experimenting with Zoom, GVBOT found that it was lacking the production value needed to keep members engaged. That’s where we came in.
The Solution
Using specialized software, we are able to create a seamless experience for both our clients and speakers in virtual and hybrid events. This allows the Board of Trade to connect with more speakers within Greater Vancouver and around the world, overcoming travel barriers. Virtual Events ensure Board of Trade members can access the event from their home or office, and still participate and interact with speakers by asking live questions using the online platform.
“Stu and the team at Oh Boy Productions were instrumental in our transition to a virtual events model at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their knowledge and expertise allowed us to build an unrivalled virtual and hybrid platform that connected guests and speakers from across the region and, beyond that, ensured our members had access to decision makers at a critical time.”
- Bridgitte Anderson, President & CEO, Greater Vancouver Board of Trade
The Result
Thousands of viewers have been able to connect virtually to view online events, and with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, members can now choose to attend virtually OR in-person. Our partnership with GVBOT has only continued to grow as restrictions are lifted, proving the importance and value of hybrid events as an essential tool for keeping members engaged.
