A Case Study
The Challenge
The prestigious Jack Webster Awards celebrate excellence in journalism in British Columbia. Since 2020, the awards were unable to be held in-person due to public health orders. However, it was essential to celebrate the achievements of journalists in this province and the outstanding work done in an unprecedented era of time.
The Solution
In collaboration with the CBC, we held a fully virtual award ceremony, highlighting the best and the brightest journalists in British Columbia. Going fully virtually meant the seamless integration of interviews, videos, and speakers. Attendees were honoured for their hard work from the comfort of their own homes.
“Stu and the team at Oh Boy Productions were instrumental in our transition to a virtual events model at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their knowledge and expertise allowed us to build an unrivalled virtual and hybrid platform that connected guests and speakers from across the region and, beyond that, ensured our members had access to decision makers at a critical time.”
- Janet Mitchell, Executive Director, Jack Webster Foundation
The Result
Thousands of viewers have been able to connect virtually to view online events, and with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, members can now choose to attend virtually OR in-person. Our partnership with GVBOT has only continued to grow as restrictions are lifted, proving the importance and value of hybrid events as an essential tool for keeping members engaged.
